- I was the sole designer within a remote disciplinary team of 7 students
- Over 12 weeks, we created a proof of concept for an industry partner
- My main role was to create wireframes and mock-ups for two pages of a responsive site. I did this using Balsamiq, Illustrator and Photoshop
- I also conducted user research and user testing on clickable wireframes, with the results informing my design decisions
- I selected typography and colour palette
- I created all copy and created/sourced all images
- I personally created an InVision mock-up for mobile, a demonstration video, branding style guide and a usability test report

About Me
Currently...
I am a Berlin-based Front-End Developer, seeking an apprenticeship or a junior role. I love teamwork, particularly collaboration with designers and UX researchers in order to achieve user-friendly interfaces on all devices.
An advocate of life-long learning, I am currently improving my JavaScript skills by studying at freeCodeCamp and Codecademy. This builds on the development and design knowledge I acquired through completion of a BSc in Digital Technology, Design & Innovation (Dublin Institute of Technology, 2017) and a Codecademy Pro course (2018). I am keen to learn further programming languages and frameworks.
Away from coding, I enjoy songwriting, playing various musical instruments, long-distance running and - most of all - spending time with my family. I am also interested in linguistics and live in a trilingual household! I am a native English speaker with good working knowledge of German.
Previously...
In 2001 I graduated with a music degree before beginning a career in technical administration and content management. I have also worked as a freelance copywriter, translator and proofreader.
After starting a family, I decided to further my digital skills and begin a new career in tech. The attention to detail I developed through proofreading and copywriting has proven useful when coding and debugging, as has the perfectionism and creativity demanded by musical performance and composition!
